Dear Members,

As the summer has come to a conclusion and the weather has gotten colder, I know you have all been anxiously anticipating the retro check for summers 2016, 2017, and the recently concluded 2018.  Over the past few weeks I have been in contact with UUP trying to get a better idea of when we are going to see this payment.  I do not want anyone to get wrong information or get their hopes up for a check in the next few weeks.

Below are changes to the By-Laws of the NYSLC to bring them in line with election ballots.  A set of the current By-Laws can be found in the Key Documents section.

ARTICLE VI OFFICERS

1. Duties of the Second Vice President/Western Regional Officer: Add (Regions F,G,H,I)

a. Assist the President and first Vice President.

b. Serve as the alternate delegate to NYSUT, AFT, and other affiliate conventions

c. Oversee the publication of the NYSLC newsletter.

ARTICLE IX REGIONS AND CHAPTERS

1. The NYSLC is composed of the following regions:

Thank you for all of your support to get people out to vote NO on Proposition One.  Thanks to your help in spreading the word and voting, the proposal to hold a Constitutional Convention was defeated with over 80% of the vote!  We look forward to continuing to serve your interests in the years to come.
