As of the beginning of August, UUP (our parent union) and the state have been in negotiations for the successor to the contract that expired July 1st, 2016. At this time meetings have been scheduled into the fall to continue the talks. The other major unions negotiating contracts (CSEA, PEF) are in various stages of the negotiations process along with us. It is currently our hope the contract will be settled in Fall 2017/Early 2018. In accordance with the procedures from previous contracts, you must be on payroll in order to receive your retro payment. At this time, it is apparent you will need to return for Summer 2018 in order to receive the retro payments for any raises negotiated for the summers of ‘16 and ’17, if retroactive payments are included in the settlement.
