Below are the current bylaws that were updated by the NYSLC Executive Board at the the Summer Executive Board meeting in July at Jones Beach.

Below are changes to the By-Laws of the NYSLC to bring them in line with election ballots.  A set of the current By-Laws can be found in the Key Documents section.

ARTICLE VI OFFICERS

1. Duties of the Second Vice President/Western Regional Officer: Add (Regions F,G,H,I)

a. Assist the President and first Vice President.

b. Serve as the alternate delegate to NYSUT, AFT, and other affiliate conventions

c. Oversee the publication of the NYSLC newsletter.

ARTICLE IX REGIONS AND CHAPTERS

1. The NYSLC is composed of the following regions:

Region A Central New York

Region B Taconic

NEW YORK STATE LIFEGUARD CORPS

BYLAWS

ARTICLE I

NAME

This organization shall be known as the New York State Lifeguard Corps (NYSLC).

ARTICLE II

PURPOSES

The purpose of this organization shall be:

1. To advance the standards of our profession;

2. To secure the conditions necessary to provide the greatest rewards for its members in their work environment;

3. To promote the best interests of its members in the operational decisions affecting their employment;

4. To promote the welfare and well-being of its members;

5. To promote mutual assistance and cooperation with other organizations with which it is
